Rabbi Elie Karfunkel

This Thursday we started up our early bird learning program. We had over 15 men join the Talmud and Mishnah class. Many of the participants voiced their hesitation about the program the days leading up to yesterday. I told them, just come once. Often the biggest obstacle to doing something great is the thought of doing it. If we commit to doing it just once, repeating it becomes easier and it can get to the point of becoming second nature. We all know that time we got up crazy early to catch a flight, a golf game or to get an assignment ready for school or work. So at least one time in our lives we should get up early to study Torah. Maintaining a level of commitment has its own challenges and pitfalls, but for those that came out Thursday, Yasher Koach to you. Whatever happens on day two, three or four will never take away your accomplishments on day one. You are an inspiration to everyone here at The FHJC. (it’s not too late to join!) Good Shabbos, Stay Jewish, Live Jewish.
