Summary |
Twelve years ago we had a tryout for the Director of Education at the Centre. At that time, we were blessed to have been given a nice donation from Warren and Tali Newfield. (As an aside, Warren used to be Alan Friedman’s boss, and Rifky and I met Alan and Michelle at their Sheva Bracha that Warren and Tali hosted). We interviewed three worthy candidates and chose Rabbi Appelrouth. Over the last 12 years, The Applerouths have grown in number and impact. Rabbi Dovid's dedication to the community has always been above and beyond! Examples abound, but to put it in perspective, when I was leading a shiva minyan, Rabbi Dovid could have easily not shown-up, taking the position that if he’s not running it, he’s not needed. However, he never took that position. It was always with an attitude of “This is what I need to do”. Personally, I have relied on Rabbi Appelrouth to be the Posek (halachic adjudicator) for the Centre as his knowledge warranted it. He has taught, inspired, and role -modelled for over a decade! They will be sorely missed. To the Applerouths, may the next chapter of your lives be as productive and rewarding as this one, and may Hashem grant you only health, Tomahawk Chops, and success for many years to come. Your friend and colleague, Rabbi Elie.
